A Poet's Statement

Sky Above, Earth Below

Here I stand,
Here I kneel,
Here I am.

Above me is the sky,
Day and night,
Sun, moon, and stars.

Around me is all life,
Mostly wet,
And mostly green.

Below me is the earth,
Soil and rock,
Becoming life.

Here I stand,
Here I kneel,
Here I am.

With my photographs, I try to share what I see in the world around me.  With my poetry, I try to share what I think and feel about my existence here and now as a human being and a member of an ecosystem, a community, and a family.
