Cracks
Maybe I should worry more,
About cracks than I do,
Imperfections can be flaws,
Cracks might signal a failure,
Something someone should repair,
Or not...
Maybe it's just the way things are.
Nature creates a lot of cracks,
The ground moves and settles,
Tectonic plates move
Grinding along cracks and faults.
We impose our idealized,
Pavements and foundations,
Into the ground, into nature,
And we will get cracks,
Signs of our place in the universe,
Or at least here in this piece of ground.
Maybe I should worry more than I do,
But I see so many cracks,
Like this one,
or that one...
